Peter Weinstein is a Managing Director of KSV Valuations Inc. and its practice leader. Peter has practiced exclusively in the area of business valuation, damage quantification and forensic accounting since 1998.

Peter has been retained to value companies in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, technology, professional services and real estate. Valuations have been prepared for income tax purposes, shareholder disputes, family law purposes and to advise Boards of Directors. Peter deals with both privately owned businesses and complex public companies.

Peter has also been retained to quantify damages in a wide range of litigation related mandates including breach of contract, investment advisor claims, commercial business losses, estate litigation and fraud investigations. He has been retained by business owners, individual plaintiffs, large corporations as well as cities, municipalities and government agencies.

A graduate of the University of Toronto’s MBA program, Peter received his CPA, CA designation in 1995. He also holds the following designations: Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), Investigative and Forensic Accounting (IFA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) (through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). Peter previously led the business valuation and litigation support practice at a mid-size accounting firm and before that was a Vice President at a business valuation firm.

Peter is the author of articles in several publications, including the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) course materials and Lawyers Weekly. He has been quoted as an authority on business valuation and damages quantification in the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail/Lexpert.ca and on CBC.ca. Peter has spoken at conferences on issues dealing with business valuation and damages quantification for several groups, including the Law Society of Upper Canada and Federated Press.  He has served as an expert in multiple court cases, settlement discussions and case conferences.
