Community Outreach

Being involved in and contributing to our local communities is important to KSV. We hold and participate in events for numerous charitable organizations. Here is a look at some of the causes we support.

  • KSV Charity Golf Classic

On June 3, 2024, KSV hosted its annual Charity Golf Classic at Granite Golf Club in support of Canadian Magen David Adom (“CMDA”).  CMDA is a full participative member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Thanks to our generous clients, friends and sponsors, we raised approximately $350,000!!  The proceeds of this year's event will help support Israel's team of trained volunteers, professional medical responders and aids in providing the entire nation's pre-hospital emergency medical needs, including disaster, ambulance and blood services.  It offers its life-saving and humanitarian services to everyone in the State of Israel regardless of race, color, religion, creed or orientation, and abroad when called upon during crises and disasters.  This year’s event continued a longstanding (25+ year) tradition of KSV and our predecessor firms of hosting an annual charity golf tournament.  Funds raised from our annual golf events now exceed $4 million.  We look forward to next year’s event!

KSV Managing Director, Peter Weinstein, completed the Ride to Conquer Cancer from June 8 to 9, 2024, by cycling more than 200 km from Toronto to Niagara. Peter participated with Team Knightstone; the team raised more than $120,000, bringing their cumulative funds raised over the years to more than $1.7 million for the Princess Margaret Hospital. This year, total funds raised by all teams are more than $20 million. Congratulations Peter!

  • The Tourney by Lifeline

In July 2018, we were a lead sponsor of the first annual "The Tourney", a golf tournament organized by Lifeline, a Lifetime Charitable Foundation. The inaugural event successfully raised over $100,000, which was distributed to numerous charities, including the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation, Starlight Foundation and Liv Wise Charity.

  • JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

On October 10, 2019, we continued our tradition of supporting JDRF by putting the pedal to the metal at the  JDRF Ride to Defeat Diabetes. The 2019 JDRF Ride has raised in excess of $2.5 million. KSV’s participation at this event has become an annual tradition and we look forward to furthering our fundraising and cycling efforts for years to come.

  • Erace Cancer

KSV is a proud supporter of the Erace Cancer cycling team, consisting of road, triathlon, mountain and cyclocross racers who participate at local, provincial, national and international events to raise money for Camp Oochigeas. Camp Ooch, as it is known, is a privately-funded, volunteer-based organization that provides kids with and affected by childhood cancer with unique opportunities for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences. In the last four years, Erace Cancer has raised over $250,000 in support of Camp Ooch.

  • Minor Hockey

KSV has a strong connection to minor hockey. KSV was a lead sponsor and supporter of Minor Hockey Fights Cancer, with the proceeds of the firm’s 2014 annual golf tournament going toward this cause. MHFC raised over $1 million in the fight against cancer, with a significant portion of the donations generated from the efforts of KSV and its team.

  • Joel Schwartz Memorial Hockey Tournament

In March 2016, we sponsored a team and participated in the 6th annual Joel Schwartz Memorial Hockey Tournament. The ultimate beneficiary of the event is Reena, a non-profit social service agency dedicated to helping those with developmental disabilities. KSV’s team made it to the finals!
